  1. Great Job! As a web developer, sometimes it can be a challenge designing a form that provides great functionality, while not loosing its visual appeal.

  2. I’ve been searching for a prototypie text area!!!

Also been doing a lot with form usability and validation… Nice.

Thanks Will for this great tutorial, very neat and clear steps to a CSS Form styling.

  4. Thanks for the list, it’s not boring or redendunt.
But I actually don’t get the full meaning of your paragraph:

“Thanks to AJAX, we can provide real-time feedback to our users using server-side validation scripts and eliminate the need for redundant validation functions and processing data.”

Ajax is about processing data. It’s all about it. I guess you meant saving bandwidth and page “va-et-vient” refresh, by making the processed data available to the user without having to go to another URL.

We at http://xhtml-css.com use ajax, and it’s in fact a bless. We don’t grab a whole new page from the server everytime a user requests an explanation of an error, instead we process server-side some data and send the bare minimum through ajax.

Anyway, data processing is there. The only way to avoid server-side processing is to do the “maths” on the client’s side and this generally is not wise considering the data you have to grab the first time and/or the “limited” client-side language (javascript) features.

  5. Right at the time when I needed one. Thanks for this article. I was also looking at WuFoo and your list here should help me a lot.

  9. Hi

Do you know of any freelancers that can build out forms using CSS, Ajax, and web 2.0 styles? I need the forms to be built for our requirements and connected to java web services.

    Thanks,

  11. I will be adding forms to my site soon, and this page will help make sure they are done right!

  12. Es curioso ! este formulario es convencional.. osea no es ajax…. Lo curioso es que paginas como esta que pregonan y muestran diferentes tipos de formularios y efecto en Ajax… nunca los utilizan….
